CURRICULUM

It is to nurture future citizens who are mentally and physically robust, assertive, confident, empathetic and helpful to the community. It lays the foundation of their life; preparing them to handle varieties of challenges in life. Our curriculum is very comprehensive, giving due importance to both Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic areas to nurture the holistic development of the students.

These are the foundational years of a child from 4 to 10 years that establish a child’s trajectory for all his/her endeavours.

We support the unfolding of children’s spatial, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and introduce them to the full range of learning areas viz. Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education andPerforming and Visual Art.

The components are designed to nurture multiple intelligences including emotional and social periphery.

Language – All form of linguistic learning from listening and speaking to reading and writing are encaptured. These skills are fostered through lecture, play way and interactive methods. Love for reading and adoration for writing leads to proficiency in communication as well as making them confident orators.

Mathematics – Briefly described as ‘Poetry of Logic’, it is inculcated in various learning by doing methodologies making it a window to decipher the physical world which needs problem solving logistics as they grow. Blocks, beads, puzzles, quiz and spatial environment makes it a world they love to inhabit.

Science – The goal of the sensorial curriculum is to lead children through measured progression of understanding from abstract to the concrete. Children love to explore natural phenomena and use hypothesis in their innocent evaluation of data, critical thinking and natural curiosity from the crux of this learning.

Social Science – A world that they are surrounded with and the world away from their vicinity both form the social fabric of family, community and cultural vibe. The students learn about their community and the history they’ve been shaped from, the geography through cartography and globes and the system of governance nurturing their awareness. They are taught how they are miniscule inhabitants of this only living planet.

Computer Science – The world of IT is introduced to these little learners who will be the forerunners of the tech-world. They are made Tech Savvy through live demonstration of gadgets and digitally designed Language and Laptop labs. The management incorporates tests, research-based apps and websites to hone their critical thinking and problem solving skills in several learning areas.

Physical Education - The school holds physical education at the core of their curriculum for the primary level and lays emphasis on learning through indoor and outdoor activities that allow children to run, jump, climb and explore, making them psychologically, physically and kinesthetically developed. Children are encouraged to improve their fitness levels, including muscular and cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Consistent effort is made to instil the importance of communication, collaboration, resilience, honesty, mutual respect, leadership and perseverance among the students.

Performing and Visual Arts - Through the Performing Arts, children learn to communicate effectively and connect with others intellectually and emotionally. CURRICULUM OF MIDDLE WING (VI-VIII)

The curriculum is designed to address seven core areas of learning viz. Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Health and Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Computer Science.

Major Contents of our Curriculum learning area in Middle school classes

The contents are designed to shape and enhance the prowess of our students.

1. Languages include Hindi, English, Sanskrit and French with focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills along with developing effective communicating proficiencies. Oral presentations in languages begin with show and tell activities and take a higher level in middle wing with more formal presentations.

2. Social Science (Geography, History, Economics and Political Science) include the learning of history and culture, geographical environment, global institutions, constitutional values and norms, politics, economy, interpersonal and social interactions, civic responsibilities and the incorporation of the above-mentioned learning into one's life. Current events and good citizenship are developed throughout each grade level.

3. Mathematics includes acquiring the concepts related to number sense, operation sense, computation, measurement, geometry, probability and statistics, the skill to calculate and organise, and the ability to apply this knowledge and acquired skills in their daily life. It also includes understanding of the principles of reasoning and problem solving.

4. Science and Technology (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science) include gaining knowledge about matter and energy, nature, the environment, technology and breakthroughs in science. It focuses on knowledge and skills to develop scientific attitude and their use and application to not only improve the quality of life but also to analyse, evaluate, synthesise, create, invent and discover.

5. Health and Physical Education focuses on the learning for Holistic development like mental and physical health, understanding the importance of physical fitness, health, well-being and the factors that contribute to them. Focus on this curriculum is on helping learners develop positive attitude and commitment to life long healthy and active living and the capacity to live satisfying productive lives with the help of proper health management, sports fitness and lifestyle choices.

6. Performing and Visual Arts (Dance, Drama, Music, Drawing, Painting, Crafts) include instructions in these arts, aiming to help learners cultivate an interest and appreciation for Arts and encourage them to enthusiastically participate in related activities, thus promoting abilities such as imagination, creativity, value arts, and the cultural heritage.

7. The courses in Computer Science take a wide lens by covering topics such as problem solving, programming, physical computing, user-centred design, and data, while inspiring students as they build their own websites, apps, games, and physical computing devices.

These seven learning areas are integrated with each other in terms of knowledge, skills (life and livelihood), comprehension, values and attitudes. CURRICULUM OF SECONDARY WING(IX-X)

The curriculum aims to enhance cognitive skills, self-awareness and explore innate potential. It also focuses on imbibing literacy and life skills. It also envisions holistic personality development of students by promoting physical fitness and cultural growth.

The COVID pandemic has presented us with an unprecedented and challenging scenario. With lockdown and suspension of physical schooling, online education became the need of the hour. Technology has, in fact, revolutionized the entire education sector, be it from students or educators’ point of view.

Major Contents of our Curriculum Learning area in Secondary classes

The contents are designed to shape and enhance the prowess of our students.

SCHOLASTIC AREAS

Special assemblies are organised on a virtual platform to mark the special occasions.

2.Health and Physical Education focuses on the understanding and learning of the importance of physical and mental well being and the factors that contribute to them. Focus of this curriculum is on helping learners develop a positive attitude and commitment to lifelong healthy active living and the capacity to live satisfying productive lives with the help of proper health management, sports, yoga, fitness and lifestyle choices. To enhance the well being of the students during the times of pandemic, yoga and fitness sessions are held on a virtual platform.

These scholastic and co-scholastic learning areas are integrated with each other in terms of knowledge, skills, comprehension, values and attitudes. To foster core competencies in learners, the curriculum encompasses six major learning areas, which are: Languages, Mathematics, Science, Commerce, Health and Physical Education and Computer Science.

Science Stream: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education & Computer Science.

Science and Technology (Subjects related to Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science) include gaining knowledge about matter and energy, nature, environment, technology, breakthrough in science. It focuses on knowledge and skills to develop scientific attitude, use and application of such knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life and further use this learning to analyze, evaluate, synthesize, create, invent and discover.

3. Mathematics includes acquiring the concepts related to number sense, operation sense, computation, measurement, geometry, probability and statistics, the skill to calculate and organize, and the ability to apply this knowledge acquired in daily life. It also includes understanding the principles of reasoning and problem solving.

4. Commerce (Business Studies, Accountancy and Economics) includes gaining understanding about core business disciplines like the exchange of items of value of products between persons or companies and any such exchange of money for a product, service, or information.

5. Health and Physical Education focuses on the learning for holistic development of the mind and the body. Understanding the importance of physical fitness, health, well-being and the factors that contribute to them. 6. Computer Science – Non Medical and Commerce Students are offered CS wherein they are taught Python, Programming, RDBMS and Concepts of Networking. Coding in Python helps children in understanding and developing apps, provides new perspective to problem solving, approach problems logically and improve proficiency.
