SOCIAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

As a part of its social awareness drive, from time to time various issues are taken up by the school and the student’s council to spread awareness on environmental protection and preservation. Cleanliness drive, tree plantation drive and earth day celebrations are a few of these activities. The entire campus has been declared as plastic free campus. The bio waste from school canteen, from the green cover of the school and food left-over are recycled in the compost pit, built by the students and the manure prepared is used in the school garden.

Other campaigns taken up from time to time include drug de-addiction, preserving cultural values, blood donation campaigns etc.

EARTH DAY - 2020

An important element of social awareness campaign is also awareness about community well-being . This awareness came to fore in the year 2020 when world faced one of the worst pandemic of the century - the outbreak of Corona virus. The school shifted the task of knowledge dissemination from offline to the online mode. Awareness campaign and sansitisation program was conducted online. The students marked the Earth day by organising and participating in the “Plantation Drive” near their own homes and the message was conveyed to neighborhood that when the delicate balance between man / nature and wildlife is disturbed the result can be as disastrous as the outbreak of a pandemic and measures should be taken to avoid the wrath of nature.

AWARENESS ON YOGA DAY

"Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family"

Yoga is a holistic approach that targets all the different systems of the body and mind. The different Asanas make the body strong and flexible, boost immunity and cures respiratory disorders and the mind too is renewed with confidence.

The Ministry of Ayush has started a campaign called 'Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family', to encourage the practice of Yoga with family members to counter the effects of the viral infection, while practicing all precautionary measures to slow down the spread of COVID-19. To observe the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2020, the Ministry organized a trainer led Yoga session which was broadcast on television at 7 AM on 21st June 2020 for people to follow and practice in their daily routine.

Our Enthusiastic Students, their Parents & Grandparents together participated in this event and brought the very essence of the spiritual practice at home.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS - 2019

“Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.” – Kenyan proverb

Each year the 22nd of April is celebrated as the Earth Day. It is celebrated to create awareness about protecting our planet and preserving the environment. Saving water, reducing pollution, protecting the wildlife, plants and trees, recycling waste are just a few means to save our environment. Although only one special day is dedicated for this cause, it is the continuous effort of each individual including children that really makes a difference. School is the right place for children to learn about the environment, how they can preserve it and why. For the same purpose various activities were organized in MVN Sec 17.A rally was organized by the students of classes 9 - 10 and the students of classes 6-8 participated in Tree plantation drive spreading the message to care for the environment.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE - 2019

Our school organized Cleanliness Drive on 22nd April 2019. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. All the students from 6th to 10th participated enthusiastically and eagerly stepped out of the school to ensure that the city is also maintained clean. They went to the nearby market armed with brooms and bags to collect the garbage. Some of them cleaned the pavement with brooms and others collected the wrappers which were lying scattered all over. Students also carried the placards to convey the message of importance of cleanliness to the public. The entire drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labour. The activity was rounded off with all the students taking oath of keeping their home, locality and city clean.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS : 2018

Students of MVN, Sector 17, Faridabad celebrated World Earth Day with energized eco-activities. Various activities were conducted on the occasion and saw ample participation from students of all wings. ‘Best out of Waste’ activity was organized and students created interesting items with the waste products. Class 8th participated in Earth Day Rally, whereas class 9th and Class 6th contributed wholeheartedly towards a clean green earth by participating in Tree plantation activity. The students of class 7th participated in the Cleanliness Drive, highlighting the message of Clean Earth, Green Earth.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE

A Clean-Up drive was organized on the occasion of Earth Day,2017.The students of MVN 17,guided by teachers, removed all garbage from the school premises and the area around it. They pledged to throw waste only into dustbins. Teams of students armed with brooms and dustbins energetically collected garbage.Thus the whole school took a small step towards a big goal of keeping the environment clean. It was a great experience and everyone contributed to it. The students relished fresh fruits and juice at the end of the rally.

STREET PLAY-CHILD SAFETY

With the world getting bigger by the day, the scary truth is that you’re not always going to be able to hold your little one’s hand! However, we may hope that no harm will come to our children, it is always better to teach them how to be prepared and safe. Child safety is a crucial part of growth and development. Teaching them about safety can be a challenging feat to accomplish. The students of MVN performed a street play depicting various safety measures that can be taken to protect children from being abused.
